# Create New Account

The following instructions illustrate how to create a new Leap wallet.

**Step 1**: Install Leap Cosmos Wallet on Chrome Extension [here](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/leap-cosmos-wallet/fcfcfllfndlomdhbehjjcoimbgofdncg/?utm_source=website\&utm_medium=permanent-website\&utm_campaign=permanent).

**Step 2:** Once you have downloaded Leap Wallet on Chrome Extension, you will be directed to a page where you can set up a Leap wallet.&#x20;

To create a new wallet, click on 'Create new wallet'.

**Step 3**: Copy the recovery phrase given.

The recovery phrase serves as a means of regaining access to your wallet if you happen to lose access to or unintentionally reset your Leap wallet. Users are highly encouraged to store their mnemonic phrase safely in a secure location that is only accessible by them. If the mnemonic seed is lost, it cannot be recovered.

Then, enter the missing words accordingly.

Click on the 'Confirm' button.

**Step 4**: Choose a password.

Click on the 'Proceed' button.

**Step 5**: Account created.

You will be greeted with the following message upon successful creation of your Leap wallet.&#x20;
