# Carbon Interest Bearing Tokens ($cibX)

Carbon Interest Bearing Tokens (assets that start with `cib`) are interest-bearing derivative tokens that are minted (and burned) when tokens are deposited into (and redeemed from) the lending pool. 

Interest collected by the interest bearing tokens are distributed evenly to holders by increasing the conversion rate with respect to their underlying tokens.
