# Reduce-Only

## **Introduction**

A Reduce-Only order is a type of trading order that is specifically designed to decrease the size of your current position. By choosing the Reduce-Only option, orders that may potentially increase or open positions in the opposite direction will be automatically canceled.

If the execution conditions of a Reduce-Only order cannot be fulfilled, the order will be fully cancelled.

Reduce-Only orders are particularly useful for risk management strategies, such as adjusting position sizes or closing out a portion of a position while keeping the overall directional exposure intact. They provide traders with a tool to manage their positions and maintain control over the size and direction of their trades.

## How It Works <a href="#h_d4f1746c4c" id="h_d4f1746c4c"></a>

Reduce-Only is available on all order types:

* Market
* Limit
* Stop Market
* Stop Limit

Reduce-Only is compatible for use with the following Time-In-Force option:

* Good-Till-Cancelled (GTC)
* Fill-Or-Kill (FOK)
* Immediate-Or-Cancel (IOC)

By default, the Reduce-Only feature is not enabled for all order types.&#x20;

To enable the Reduce-Only feature, simply mark the 'Reduce-Only' checkbox for the desired order type.&#x20;
